FIRST INTERNATIONAL LITERACY CONFERENCE

The Association of Fil-Am Teachers of America (AFTA) held its first International literacy conference on the Science of Reading (SoR) at Sta. Rosa City Auditorium, Sta. Rosa, Laguna today, April 15. With the theme, “Empowering Minds, Transforming Futures: A Global Journey in Literacy Education”, the three-day conference gathers experts, policymakers, and educators dedicated to advancing local literacy initiatives. ME-Phil-US 2024
FTEC-AFTA UAE, AFTA Phil. Chapter and AFTA, Inc. will come together in Abu Dhabi on April 21 - 23, 2024 - Forging Ties Across the Globe to Bind Our Advocacies. This is the 3rd ME-Phil-US (Middle East-Philippines-United States) Consortium. With the theme - Sinamay: Ang Hinabing Biyaya ng Pagtuturo (The Woven Grace of Teaching) we hope to create a collective declaration on how to support our learners in the Filipino diaspora. Our heartfelt gratitude goes to Lideline Lariosa Kin Sora, chairperson of the host institution, FTEC-AFTA UAE for making this happen. BaLinkBayan Stakeholders Conference 2023
Nov. 22-23, 2023: As an outstanding Filipino Association Overseas (FAO) and an acknowledged partner of BalinkBayan, AFTA was represented by Sally Labanda, AFTA VP for Teaching & Research and Dr. Lorna Dig-Dino, AFTA Philippine Chapter Chairperson, during the Commission on Overseas Filipinos' BalinkBayan Stakeholders Conference in Tagaytay City. It was a gathering of local government units (LGUs), Filipino associations overseas (FAOs), and the national government partners. As posted by CFO, "This year's Conference boasts of several speakers that will further capacitate our partners in digital innovations and technological trends, monitoring and evaluation, and the use of Canva in content creation." BaLinkBayan aims "to strengthen partnerships between overseas Filipinos and local communities, to achieve sustainable and long-term development of rural and urban localities, toward an economically prosperous Philippines. "Thank you Commission on Filipinos Overseas for trusting in AFTA, and thank you Sally Labanda and Dr. Lorna Dig-Dino for representing AFTA @ the BalinkBayan Stakeholders Conference.
